More than 4,000 guests at the TU Darmstadt Open Campus
TU Darmstadt celebrated its Open Campus on 25 May with open doors, more than 100 programme items and around 4,000 guests. Under the motto ‘A day that creates knowledge’, visitors were able to experience hands-on research, take part in guided tours and take part in discussions at lectures. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology was represented with a wide range of activities for young and old.

In its current survey on study programmes and study conditions in Germany, the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) examines a selected range of subjects, including electrical engineering and information technology as well as mechatronics.

etit provides first demonstrator for use in schools
On 19 March 2025, researchers from the Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing Lab (ALSVV) handed over a plant demonstrator to teachers at the Bertolt-Brecht-Schule in Darmstadt. The demonstrator is part of a special research programme of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (etit) at TU Darmstadt, which aims to intensify the exchange between the university and schools and teach pupils during their school years how biology and technology can be directly linked.

Pupils' project days 2025 at the etit department
The etit department's project days for pupils took place from 18 to 20 February – this year for the ninth time. The participants from five different schools enjoyed three inspiring days full of experiments and discoveries in the fascinating world of electrical engineering and information technology.

On 05 December 2024, the Eleonorenschule visited the high-voltage hall in Griesheim for an experimental lecture. The pupils were shown various fun experiments from the fields of high-voltage and high-current technology.

21 schoolgirls visit etit on Girls' Day
“No nonsense with solder” was the motto of Girls' Day 2024 at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Darmstadt. 21 schoolgirls came to find out about the profession of an electrical engineer and to get hands-on with soldering.
