Convincing study conditions once again

etit degree programmes receive good feedback in the CHE Ranking 2025

In its current survey on study programmes and study conditions in Germany, the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) examines a selected range of subjects, including electrical engineering and information technology as well as mechatronics.

As of today (8 May), the results of the CHE University Ranking can be viewed online. Particularly pleasing for the etit department: as in the last survey three years ago, the assessed subjects of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Mechatronics are in the top group for ‘Support at the start of studies’. This means that a successful start to the degree programme is possible.

The etit subjects also performed very well in terms of the general study situation, support from lecturers, study organisation, range of courses, support during studies and support for stays abroad. Students rate the organisation of studies with at least four out of five possible stars.

The university infrastructure, from libraries and IT to rooms, learning spaces and the equipment of practical labs, also received at least four stars across the board. Overall, all ratings are positive – another indication of the consistently high quality and reliability of teaching at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Darmstadt.

Once again this year, it was important for students to give their assessment of the study programmes: Numerous Bachelor students at TU Darmstadt took part in the CHE online survey on various aspects of their degree programme. The minimum participation rate was achieved for all degree programmes. The departments also provided additional information and data.

CHE University Ranking

The CHE University Ranking is regarded as the most comprehensive and detailed ranking in the German-speaking world. This year, around 120,000 students were surveyed and more than 300 universities were analysed. In addition to data on teaching, research and facilities, students' judgements on their study conditions are also included.

The results are published in the ZEIT Study Guide and on ZEIT online at heystudium.
