Episode 2: Pupils' project days

It is generally recognised that diversity and equality are not only beneficial, but also essential for our modern, western world. How does a traditionally male-dominated subject like electrical engineering deal with this? How can we get more women interested in this forward-looking field? In the second episode of the podcast gleichstellung@etit, Luisa and Laura were live at the department's project days for schoolgirls.

The are organised every year by the equal opportunities team of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Darmstadt. They offer participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the subject of electrical engineering while still at school. Pupils' project days
They are busy soldering, tinkering and programming to make robots dance, measure their own pulse, make music with lightning, light up LED lights and send energy through the air. The aim is to do away with common gender stereotypes and get pupils interested in electrical engineering. In this episode, Laura and Luisa accompany the project days and talk to several participants. The various workshops and experiences show how diverse the subject of electrical engineering can be.
