Serious Games
In times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of digitalizing the workspace has become increasingly apparent. The aim of companies is to increase their efficiency, modernize workflows, and optimize processes. VR-based training simulations offer resource-efficient options for optimizing business processes. For this reason, a serious game was designed and prototypically implemented as part of the project to efficiently train complex processes in VR and thus promote process management skills. The primary goal was to explore the interaction techniques within VR. In order to enable interactions between two users, methods were investigated that track the full-body movements of the users and display them in the form of an avatar. By optimizing the parameters, a method was identified that performs very well in terms of high accuracy and low latency. An omnidirectional treadmill was used to enable users to move through the environment within the VR training simulation.
