Education and training are essential to optimally prepare emergency services for real situations. Training on-site is hardly possible, especially in scenarios such as terrorist attacks or rampages, for example, at Christmas markets or in shopping centers. The everyday processes would be disturbed too much. Real training environments are complex to create and the number of exercise options is limited. Virtual reality (VR) can offer great added value for the training and preparation of emergency services, especially with the support of artificial intelligence (AI).
