UrCity Reloaded

As part of an internship in WiSe 2022/23 a plattform was created enabling the participation in the campus design. Users can design the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Platz in a playful environment and share their designs for others to see.

UrCity Reloaded – Bürgerbetiligung 2.0 is a project, that as the name suggests, was based on the application UrCity from 2014. The idea of encouraging citizens to participate in city design is brought to the campus of TU Darmstadt. The Project consists of the website and the editor.

The Website

The website functions as a plattform for students and staff of TU Darmstadt, who want to actively participate in the design of the campus. They can share, rate and comment on their creations.

The Editor

The Editor is based on the 3D-Campus-Model of TU Darmstadt. It allows users to freely navigate the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Platz and offers a wide variety of objects – e.g. geometric shapes, plants or city-objects. Free movement and rotation as well as adjustement of size and color of objects gives Users creative freedom.
