WG 6G Resilient-By-Design

2024/11/20

Our central mission is to ensure the reliability, cybersecurity, trustworthiness, and resilience of future communication networks. Resilient networks must be capable of autonomously detecting disruptions during operation and initiating appropriate measures to guarantee a minimum level of availability at all times. This capability is particularly crucial in response to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, cyberattacks, or system component failures.

To enhance the resilience of future networks like 6G, it will be essential to integrate fundamental resilience principles at all system levels. To drive this development forward, the “6G Resilient-by-Design” working group was established as part of the 6G Platform Germany. Led by Prof. Norman Franchi (FAU), Dr.-Ing. Joachim Sachs (Ericsson), and Prof. Vahid Jamali (TU Darmstadt), the working group aims at close collaboration between industry and academia in order to ensure that industry-specific requirements are embedded in the 6G development from an early design stage.
