The week before lectures begin is Freshers’ Week, known as “Orientation week”. During this week, we give you lots of important information about your degree programme. You will discover how the degree programme is structured and what is covered, be told about exam regulations, timetables and much, much more so that you are well prepared for the coming semester.
Participation in Orientation week is mandatory.
You will be invited to all of the orientation sessions automatically by the Advisory service.
Interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds might be a challenge and is an important part of daily life at university, in work environments, and in our private lives.
To be prepared to these encounters we offer a full-day Intercultural Competence and Communication workshop. The workshop is designed to be interactive allowing participants to practice their newly acquired knowledge and skills. In exercises and role playing you will learn how your own cultural imprint guides your perception and behavior and why other people may react differently than expected.
"The preparation workshop helped me to improve my intercultural competences and to successfully handle my studies in an intercultural environment."
