Gender Equality Team etit

As Gender Equality Team at the Department etit, we support students, scientists as well as administrative-technical staff in enforcing equal opportunities for women and men. We are also committed to increasing the number of women in all underrepresented areas, in particular to increasing the number of first-year students. In addition to promoting women, we are also contact persons for equal opportunities, taking into account ethnic origin, cultural or religious backgrounds, gender diversity and other aspects.

The Gender Equality Team was significantly involved in the creation of the Gender Equality Concept (opens in new tab) of the Department etit and is committed to increasing the low proportion of women in the department. The gender equality strategy is based on the legal foundations: realisation of equal opportunities, elimination of existing underrepresentation of women and the targeted professional promotion of women. Using the equality funds, we work towards the following goals anchored in the equality concept:

1. Increase the number of female university entrants

Measure: Consecutive project days for schoolgirls to familiarise them with study contents and opportunities at the Faculty of etit.

2. Improve the further qualification of women.

Measure: Networking streffen of women in the faculty in all status groups, organisation of further and continuing education.

3. Increase the number of women in underrepresented areas

Measure: Workshops on topics that are important for assertion and career advancement. These include, for example, formats such as communication training for women in male domains, SelfConfidence in Science, etc.
