Friedrich Pyttel receives Best Bachelor Award from Rhode & Schwarz

Friedrich Pyttel received the Best Bachelor Award from Rhode & Schwarz for his Bachelor's degree. Every year, Rohde & Schwarz presents the award, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, for the best Bachelor's degree to students in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology specializing in Communication Technology and Sensor Systems as well as Computer Engineering.

In his bachelor's thesis, Friedrich Pyttel examined various aspects of status update systems. These systems are used in numerous applications in connection with the Internet of Things. The main focus of his work was to find out how such a system can work reliably even under uncertainty.

The successful Bachelor's graduate is currently studying for a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a specialization in Communication Technology and Sensor Systems. He completed his Bachelor's degree with an excellent overall grade. He even received the top grade of 1.0 for his Bachelor's thesis.

The topic of his Bachelor's thesis, which was supervised by Professor Anja Klein and Wanja de Sombre at the Lab of Communications Engineering, will be presented as a conference paper at the International IEEE Conference on Communications (ICC) 2024 in Denver with him as first author.
