Applied artificial intelligence for autonomous vehicles

The goal of the PRORETA 5 research project (2019 to 2022) was to investigate artificial intelligence methods for automated driving. Under the title “Building blocks for automated urban driving to improve traffic safety in cities,” it focused on the situation understanding and motion planning of automated vehicles in urban traffic. To this end, Continental AG cooperated with the Institute of Automotive Engineering (FZD) and the Department of Control Methods and Intelligent Systems (ris) at TU Darmstadt, the Institute of Cognitive Neuroinformatics (CNI) at the University of Bremen and the Faculty of Control and Computer Engineering (FACCE) at TU Iaşi (Romania).
