The Measurement and Sensor Technology Research Group can proudly reflect on a successful DESY DAY. The “Gas-phase Sono-Photonic Light Control,” project has been honored with the DESY Innovation Prize 2024. This pioneering research is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Photonics Research and Innovation Group at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY), led by Dr. Christoph Heyl, and the Light-Matter Interaction Group at the University of Aalen, headed by Prof. Dr. Anne Harth.
The project focuses on the contactless manipulation of light in air or other gases using ultrasonic waves. This technique unlocks new possibilities for developing high-performance, high-bandwidth optical systems that could benefit various applications. For more information, please go to this . link
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Inoson GmbH and the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung for their invaluable support in the joint research project . SOPHIMA (Sono-Photonics in Metafluids)
