Research for the physically challenged: MUST participates in the Research Training Groups

We are very pleased about the approval of the new project “Seamless Integration of Assistance Systems for Natural Locomotion of Humans (LokoAssist)” announced on 08.11.22, in which the Measurement and Sensor Technology group (Prof. Mario Kupnik) will, among other things, work on new sensor technologies for detecting the intention to move on the human body. This is essential for the improvement of so-called assistance systems (leg orthoses, prosthetic legs, exoskeletons). The LokoAssist RTG, under the leadership of Prof. André Seyfarth, is concerned with a holistic approach to the development and application of such assistance systems for users. In addition to several departments of the TU Darmstadt, colleagues from the University of Heidelberg, the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim and the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg are also involved in the RTG.
