How To Find Us

The offices of the institute are located on the third floor of the Hans-Busch-Institute (S3|06).

Address

The building S3 06 (Hans-Busch-Institute) is shown in the above picture on the bottom-right. The shown blue parking signs in the close vicinity of the Hans-Busch-Institute are either employee-parking, or belong to the swimming pool (open to the public, but more expensive).

From the interstate A5 (arriving from Frankfurt, Heidelberg) or the A67 (arriving from Mainz or Mannheim) you have to exit on the „Darmstaedter Kreuz“, direction „City Center (Stadtmitte)“. Following the signs “Darmstadt City Center” you will be directed to the Rheinstrasse – on this road, follow the signs “B26” for approx 3,5km, entering finally a tunnel (City Ring). Leave the tunnel on the left two lanes, stay on these lanes and make a left turn following the city-ring on the next traffic signal. After 200m you will see the signs for a parking garage called “Justus Liebig Garage”. We recommend to park here and to walk the remaining 200m to the Hans-Busch-Institut (Merckstrasse 25, corner Landgraf-Georg-Strasse – see map below).

From Darmstadt main Railway Station you can make the final 2 kilometers either by Tram line 3 (direction Lichtenbergschule) or 2 (direction Böllenfalltor) or F- resp. K-Bus and leave on the city center called „Luisenplatz“. From here it is only 800m walking distane to the Hans-Busch-Institute (Using Rheinstrasse direction Schloss, then cross the “City Ring” at the traffic light, finally the “Landgraf-Georg-Strasse” 200m uphill reaching finally Hans-Busch-Institut (Merckstrasse 25). Walking can be avoided by using the L-Bus direction “Ostbahnhof”, exiting “Jugendstilbad” – this is only 2 stops away from the Luisenplatz and directly located in front of the Hans-Busch-Institute.

In the case that you will arrive with the Via-Train (from Frankfurt Main Train station) exiting “Darmstadt-East/Ost”, you may take the L-Bus two stops until the stop “Jugendstilbad”.

The Frankfurt International Air Port is about 25km away from Darmstadt. In front of arrival/departure hall C, bus position 14, the AirLiner (commuting bus) goes to Darmstadt Main Railway Station once per hour. Driving time is about 25minutes, payment is possible (cash only) at the driver. From the main railway station please continue as described in “Arrival by train”.
