How can we design RNA sequences that support efficient proteinproduction? Internal ribosome entry sites (IRES) are regulatory RNA sequencesthat act as internal entry points for the cell’s machinery to read protein-codinginstructions. They can influence how efficiently a protein is produced from linearor circular RNA (circRNA), making them useful components for therapeuticRNA design. The project investigates how generative AI can design new IRESsequences with high predicted activity in a specific RNA context.
