In addition to attending the exciting talks from the signal processing community, he presented his paper entitled “Accelerated Sample Accurate R-Peak Detectors Based on Visibility Graphs”, in which novel algorithms (https://github.com/JonasEmrich/vg-beat-detectors) for heartbeat detection in the electrocardiogram are proposed. The developed methods rely on the visibility graph transformation and allow for a fast and sample-precise heartbeat detection, which is required for assessing cardiovascular health and diseases.
