The “Active Research in Sensor Systems” project seminar is entering its second round and is pleased to welcome new participants from Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Within the framework of the European university alliance Unite!, the Measurement and Sensor Technology Group had the honor of hosting Dr. Agnieszka Mirkowska, an expert from our partner institution in Poland.

As an expert in the field of electrets, she shared her knowledge with students through an engaging guest lecture, presenting insightful case studies drawn from her research. Particular emphasis was placed on energy harvesting, especially via the piezoelectric effect. She clearly illustrated the challenges associated with generating energy from everyday sources and highlighted forward-looking applications emerging from her work. The lecture provided participants with valuable insights into current developments and fostered in-depth professional discussions on potential applications and future collaborations.

During her stay, Dr. Mirkowska toured the laboratories and facilities of the Measurement and Sensor Technology Group. The visit not only provided a valuable platform for professional exchange on current developments, but also laid the groundwork for future cooperation: within the framework of joint planning, collaboration on upcoming projects has already been formally established.

We are delighted to have hosted this inspiring visit and look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with our partners from Wrocław in advancing world-leading international research in the field of sensor technology.
