MUST at the RIE 2026 Conference
2026/04/17 by Mark Suppelt, M.Sc.
The Measurement and Sensor Technology Group (MUST) participated in the Robotics in Education (RIE 2026) Conference, which took place from April 15 to 17, 2026. During the event, Mark Suppelt presented a paper on the group’s own further development of the well-known Otto DIY Robot.
The version of the robot developed at MUST has been successfully used for several years as part of the Girls’ Project Days, an initiative aimed at introducing students to electrical engineering and information technology through hands-on experience.
The presented hardware solution is specifically tailored to the requirements of these project days and combines a robust, easy-to-understand, and flexibly extendable platform. The system is available as open source and can be freely used, modified, and further developed.
Participation in the conference also provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with international researchers in the field of robotics in education and to gain new inspiration for future educational formats.
