Cryomicroscopy-based investigation and optimization of the temperature stability of nanoparticle-based formulations for mRNA based vaccines

Maintaining the effectiveness of drugs and vaccines often requires expensive low-temperature storage and transportation. This represents a major challenge in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to optimize the stability of drug formulations, structural investigations with high resolution are of great interest. Here we aim to develop new analytical technologies for this purpose. The results should help to facilitate the development of drugs that can be stored and transported more easily at or near room temperature.

This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Union's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant will be used to fund necessary laboratory equipment.
