40 Years of the EIT Conference

We Were There in Sheffield
Forty years ago, the first EIT Conference took place in Sheffield, which at the time was still called the “European Community Workshop on EIT.” To mark this special anniversary, the conference returned to its birthplace this year. From July 6 to 8, Christoph and Theresa were on site to represent KIS*MED.
Theresa presented her research on “Automated Multi-Tissue FEM Generation for Electrical Impedance Tomography from CT Data.” For her presentation, she was awarded the prize for the best student presentation. The corresponding paper has already been published in the conference proceedings (doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18524918).
In addition to the exciting scientific presentations, the conference also offered numerous opportunities for professional exchange. We reconnected with some colleagues we had already met at the EIT conference in Mexico and were also able to make many new contacts.
Of course, there was also some time left to explore Sheffield and the surrounding area. Overall, the anniversary conference was a successful mix of scientific exchange, personal reunions, and new encounters for us.
