How to reconstruct 3D poses from two cameras.

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest paper “Accuracy Evaluation of 3D Pose Reconstruction Algorithms Through Stereo Camera Information Fusion for Physical Exercises with MediaPipe Pose” in the Special Issue “Deep Learning Applications for Pose Estimation and Human Action Recognition” of the journal MDPI Sensors!
In a joint publication with the sports scientists of the locomotion lab (https://www.sport.tu-darmstadt.de/institut_ifs/fachgebiete_ifs/lauflabor/index.en.jsp), we used our own measurements to investigate how well the 3D pose data of human subjects can be reconstructed from two camera perspectives. We were able to show that the reconstruction is accurate enough to recognise errors in the execution of physiotherapy exercises.
