Ralf Steinmetz accepted into the Academia Europaea

Professor Ralf Steinmetz was admitted to the Academia Europaea. The approximately 4,000 members, including more than 70 Nobel Prize winners, have set themselves the goal of promoting a broad understanding of the benefits of knowledge and learning and highlighting scientific topics that affect society. To this end, Academia Europaea organises annual meetings on a focus topic.
Steinmetz has been head of the at the Department etit at the TU Darmstadt since 1996. With over 30 researchers he is working on the realization of his vision of seamless adaptive multimedia communication. By further developing adaptive networks, he is helping to shape the architecture of the Internet of the future Multimedia Communication Lab (KOM)
He is a member of the Council for Digital Ethics of the State of Hesse and is committed to responsible digitization. He was the first German scientist to receive both an IEEE Fellow and an ACM Fellow award.
