The CHE University Ranking 2019, based on a survey with undergraduate students, also shows top marks for the department.
For the new edition of the WiWo ranking, 650 human resource managers from companies with a size of ten to thousands of employees were interviewed. The focus was on the questions: Which universities have the highest reputation? From which universities do companies prefer to recruit their employees? The TU Darmstadt, together with the Technical University of Munich, the RWTH Aachen University, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the LMU Munich is at the top, according to the „WirtschaftsWoche“. The department etit placed itself in the top field in the field of electrical engineering behind the RWTH Aachen, the TU Munich and the KIT Karlsruhe.
In the CHE university ranking, which is considered to be the most comprehensive and detailed ranking in the German-speaking world, students are asked about the study conditions at their university in addition to facts about studies, teaching and research. According to the new ranking, the undergraduate students of the TU Darmstadt rate the engineering degree programs predominantly positively. Students in the subjects electrical engineering and information technology and mechatronics appreciate the general study situation very positively. Both subjects improve markedly compared to the last ranking in 2016 and are now represented in the top group. In addition, the engineering sciences of the TU can score with regard to the international orientation in the master's programme and the relation to professional practice. Also the „support at the beginning of studies“ is rated as very good.
